SANLIURFA- Governor Celalettin Guvenc said the injured included police officers, soldiers, wardens, and inmates who were affected by smoke.

"Security has been restored at prison right now, and inmates have been taken back to their wards," Guvenc told the private CNN Turk TV channel.

Guvenc said everything was under control, and 14 of the injured were inmates who were affected by smoke, and they were hospitalized.

"A 38-year-old inmate is in serious condition, and he is under intensive care. Doctors think he had an hearth attack," Guvenc said.

Guvenc also said executives would do everything they could to rehabilitate prison conditions.

Fire broke out at the same prison early on Sunday, killing 13 and wounding five others.

The fire broke out due to a row among the inmates, and it spread as inmates did not allow wardens to open doors.
